illuminate Solutions Appoints Technology Veteran Hervé Barsanti as Chief Technical Officer
Former Oracle, Netscape executive to drive software development teams for correlation database and data access tool suite.
BARCELONA, SPAIN, 1 Sept. 2007—illuminate Solutions (http://www.i-lluminate.com), pioneer of correlation database management technology for automatically designing and building data warehouses and data marts, today announced the appointment of Hervé Barsanti to the position of chief technical officer.
With nearly 20 years of software development and implementation management experience with such vendors as Oracle, USoft and Netscape, Barsanti will be responsible for managing the company's software development teams. He will be based in Barcelona, Spain and report to Anton Torrents, illuminate’s co-founder and chief executive officer.
"I’ve been in the industry for a long time and worked with some very progressive companies," said Hervé Barsanti. "What illuminate has developed is radically different from anything I’ve ever seen. This database engine technology will really change the way people view analytics systems, and it’s an honor to part of the team."
Prior to joining illuminate Solutions, Barsanti focused on emerging technologies. He was part of the team which first introduced Application Servers for Netscape in Europe and implemented large Internet technology-based systems. Most recently, Barsanti managed the Professional Services operations at Software AG France in charge of SOAP and Master Data Management solutions.
"World-class technology development and getting products market-ready in a reliable fashion is a critical part of our strategy," said Torrents. "With a proven track record for successfully leading large-scale software development initiatives, Barsanti is a perfect match for our company."
About illuminate Solutions,
S.L.
illuminate Solutions, headquartered in Barcelona, Spain,
is the pioneer of the correlation DBMS (CDBMS) for building
data-driven data warehouses. The CDBMS is a radical departure
from how information management infrastructures are built
and accessed. By automatically creating a data-generated
schema during the raw data loading process, the need
for pre-design is virtually eliminated. A CDBMS data
warehouse is a fraction of the size of others due to
its unique value-based storage™ (VBS) model, which
indexes 100 percent of the raw data on-the-fly during
the loading process and stores each unique data value
only once. A CDBMS eliminates the trade-off between performance
and flexibility that so often frustrates IT and business
users alike, and dramatically lowers the time/cost of
data warehouse deployment and management.
illiminate’s products include
iLuminate, its CDBMS engine, and a full tool suite for
accessing the data warehouse: iCorrelate, for exploration;
and iAnalyze, for light analytics, dashboards and geographic
mapping. The company also offers the iLuminate SDK to
qualified customers free of charge.
illuminate sells its products exclusively
through IT consulting services firms and management consulting
companies in the Americas. In Europe, its products are
sold direct and through a partner network. European customers
include BBVA, Bon Preu Group, ZURICH, infojobs
and RORI among others.
